Meet the Guys - Jesse Kost

Hello all, my name is Jesse. 

I have worked for Sauter Builders since March of 2023. I have had many jobs in my life, with most having something to do with construction or roofing. I knew quickly that this would be my last job and that I would always be with Sauter Builders — I knew this was my home. I love my job so much and I look forward to going to work every day. 

Charlie is one of the best human beings I have ever met in my life. He is just good at it. I’ve had some trouble in my life and started working on myself to help change my circumstances about 6 years ago. Charlie could see my heart and he looked past my history and gave me a chance with zero judgement. By doing that, he gave me the opportunity to show him who I am.

I love the daily challenges and all of the new things I learn each day. I have come so far and I am so proud to say that I am a carpenter. The woodworking, the details, and the skills I have acquired along the way are all as interesting to me today as they were day one. It is so rewarding to look at the beautiful homes I help create for families to love for many years. At a recent builders conference I saw a demonstration that showed how the home is a system. Charlie approaches home building in this way and I am fascinated by the way we insulate homes for cold climates while continuing to have the energy efficiency that helps our environment. We do things right no matter what it takes — no short cuts and no excuses. We build to a higher standard of integrity and craftsmanship. 

As a crew, we all work well together, and they are all great guys — each with a different set of skills to bring to the table. We all have the same goal and mindset of bringing the clients’ dream to life. I’ve made some great friends and I can easily say joining the Sauter Builders team has been a blessing to my life that I continue to appreciate. 

My free time is family time. I have a 13-year-old son and an 18-month-old daughter that have my heart completely. I take immense pride in being their provider and protector. As a family we enjoy being outside and doing activities together. Family is the most important blessing we have in this life and that’s the foundation that Sauter Builders stands on. The great men I work with, and the great man I work for, are like my second family. We build homes to be filled with love by the families who feel the same.
