Meet the Guys - Tom Berg

Greetings,

My name is Tom Berg, and I have been working for Sauter Builders for five years.

I grew up with family members working in the residential construction trades - general contractors, carpenters, electricians and masons. My first experience was remodeling a bathroom with my grandfather when I was 14. It prompted an interest, and I took drafting and architecture classes in high school. Additional experiences with the family include remodels, additions, and the construction of a home in Presque Isle in 2000 where I live now.

After careers in IT and Business management, I had a desire to get out from behind a computer screen and use my experience and skills in a job in residential construction. One day I noticed the “We’re Hiring” sign in front of the Sauter Builders office, and here I am today.

I enjoy being a part of our projects from start to finish. It is an extremely rewarding experience to walk in and around a finished home where a vacant lot or outdated cabin used to be. I also enjoy working with the myriad of people involved with a project – from the homeowners, to the suppliers, to the subcontractors, and of course our team. It takes a village! I am grateful for the knowledge and relationships gained along the way.

My role for Sauter Builders is multi-faceted. I serve as a conduit between our team and subcontractors/suppliers, secure tools and materials for the crew to keep a job moving forward, and will help out in the field when an extra hand is needed.

I like to be outside. When I am not at work, you can find me hiking, camping, swimming, sailing, or skiing somewhere in the Northwoods of Wisconsin and Michigan.
