Meet the Guys — Drew Ohlsson
Hello all,
I started working for Sauter Builders in September of 2020.
I've always enjoyed building things, and in 2020, my family and I decided to move across the state and buy my great-grandmother’s house in Boulder Junction.
Smart Heat for Cold Winters: Dipping My Toes Into Cold Climate Air Source Heat Pumps
Through the years, as an energy efficient home builder, I’ve seen quite a lot of technology change and grow. Although they have been around since the 40’s, the technology of heat pumps have changed significantly over the last 15 years. This new breed of heat pump, the cold climate Air Source Heat Pump (ccASHP), became a blip on my radar after attending a builders’ conference early this year.
Meet the Guys - Jesse Kost
Hello all, my name is Jesse.
I have worked for Sauter Builders since March of 2023. I have had many jobs in my life, with most having something to do with construction or roofing. I knew quickly that this would be my last job and that I would always be with Sauter Builders — I knew this was my home. I love my job so much and I look forward to going to work every day.
Turning a House into Our Homebase
Let’s take another trip down memory lane, shall we?
In the early 2000’s Denise and I had been using our office space in our home to run our growing business. As we took on more projects and expanded our team, we knew it was time to find a space that could grow with us and reflect what we stand for. We looked around and waited until the perfect place came on the market — a sweet little house in downtown Boulder Junction that was previously a retail store. It became ours on December 31st 2009.
Meet the Guys - Tom Berg
Greetings,
My name is Tom Berg, and I have been working for Sauter Builders for five years.
I grew up with family members working in the residential construction trades - general contractors, carpenters, electricians and masons. My first experience was remodeling a bathroom with my grandfather when I was 14.
Electrification — The Modern Day Spin on the “All-Electric House”
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how we use energy in our homes and communities. For most of my life, fossil fuels were a given—used to heat our homes, fuel our stoves, and power water heaters. But now, more and more people are pulling the plug on natural gas and, quite literally, plugging everything into the wall. The “All Electric House” was a popular phrase back in the 50s, and now it’s back in the form of “Electrification” as one of the top buzzwords in the green home building community.
